Last week my guy was offered the position of publisher for Governing Magazine. Him being a fan of that journal since it’s inception, he was thrilled to accept. Now, instead him helping just one city provide better government outcomes to ordinary citizens, he’s serving on a national level. Lord help me contain his head. The photo of him is one of my favorites. Taken during his second run for mayor of Kansas City, and depending on how you look at it, he lost or Kansas Citians lost. All the same, I adore the image because it captures him having finally learned to multi-task. And all it took was 4 years on the job as mayor. Unfortunately, he’s too busy now for me to reap the rewards of his new skill. I have to pay others to help me cross items off my to-do list at home.
