Funk is so annoying. Any time I’m ranting about WHY it is that people are so mean and apathetic, instead of loving comfort, he tosses another quote my way. In this instance, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.” Meaning, people are doing the best they can, so I should stop whining.

So it is that I now have quite a few quotes that run through my mind whenever I’m questioning the world. Which is often now, with the current state of meanness going on.

“Many hands make light work.” Laura Ingalls Wilder

“Can’t we all just get along?” Rodney King

“Why me, why anybody?” Nancy Kerrigan

What I love about those quotes is there is a WE in them!

I understand that the reason people are so grouchy probably comes from them having a deficit of some sort in their lives, and that it’s hard to be nice when your tank is empty. Still, condemning others might give you a momentary thrill, but it won’t do a thing long term in filling your soul with contentment.

We have to reach higher, even when we’re out of gas, or nothing will change.

I feel a deficit too. And that’s even with me being incredibly blessed to have a husband who is in love with me, for reasons unknown, and to have many children in my life, of which there is no greater joy.

I live in constant prayer and gratitude for those blessings, and it’s why I am trying to lift up Facebook friends that I don’t really know.

Here’s wishing you all the love in the world. Praying that you feel it, and share it with others.
